Optos 200TX Ultra-Widefield Imaging

Strathfield Retina Clinic is pleased to announce the acquisition of the OPTOS 200TX Ultra-Widefield Retinal Imaging System.

This revolutionary technology is able to simultaneously image the peripheral retina through an undilated pupil (including through most cataracts) in under 1 second and allows visualisation via different modalities including colour, red-free, autofluorescence and fluorescein angiography modes.

Ultra-widefield fluorescein angiography is rapidly emerging as an important investigation with diagnostic and prognostic value in retinal disorders such as diabetic retinopathy and retinal vein occlusion.

The OPTOS 200TX is able to image up to 200 degrees of visual field, whereas standard colour fundus photography is limited to 50 degrees. This may result in more accurate detection and monitoring of peripheral retinal and vitreous disorders and earlier diagnosis and treatment of sight-threatening conditions, leading to improved patient outcomes.
